When Does A Simple Online Chatting Raises The Red Flag Making It Turn To Cyber Cheating In A Gay Relationship?

Flirting is such bliss. The only time that it isn’t is once you are in a relationship. Although it is also unarguable that gentle flirting with someone outside your relationship is quite an OK thing provided that there are boundaries that are still followed. But of course, it’s a case to case basis. There are plenty of unique differences when it comes to the violation in every relationship, gay or straight.

With the rise of social media usage and different dating apps, it is no wonder that flirting issue has been pushed across the table for many couples nowadays. And this is way too different compared before.

But one thing is for sure, we have been deeply misled by the thought that we are not really “getting close” with someone in the cyber world or internet because we are just having a “conversation” with them. And let’s accept it, it’s something so seductive in many ways.

With almost everything right in front of our laptop or smartphones, cyber cheating can really be so appealing for gay men. After all, flirting can already be done in the comfort of your home. But the dangerous red flag raised is the fact that the once harmless friendship made online can develop into an either physical and/or emotional (or both) affair.

So the question is when does simple online chatting raises the red flag making it turn to cyber cheating in a gay relationship?

Here are some of those.

6. When you keep secrets

Do you erase emails or do you download hidden or secret apps that can keep personal messages or even apps for dating so you can keep it from being read by someone or by your partner? Why are you doing such? You know the answer. I know. Of course, you know that your partner might feel betrayed or upset when they read those sweet and sensual messages that you’ve been exchanging with your “just-online friend.” What you surely need to do is to imagine yourself in your partner’s shoe if you find out that he converses in a not-so-usual-and-exclusive-manner with a very attractive guy on Facebook or Twitter. Or probably if you are on the extremes, having a chat in Grindr or PlanetRomeo. If by chance you felt a little bit uneasy, then congratulations! Hope you’ll reconsider the pain.

5. When the conversation is sexual

Are you and your “just-online friend” seemed to be feeding each others’ sexual fantasy? Perhaps you are talking about being top for him or vice versa. Or maybe talking about BJ’s and fetishes. If so, better watch out! It’s like you are partaking in a subtle foreplay of emotions and sexual desires.

4. When you take more time talking to your “online friend” compared with your partner

For us to fully weigh cyber cheating, per se, we need not just check on the content being shared between two people. We must also consider the amount of time being spent on it. Do you have alibis when you talk to your partner but seem to have the rest of the world undisturbed if you are chatting with your “just-online friend” on Facebook? Hmm. I think something’s not right in there.

3. When you rationalize

Are you just friends with your “just-online friend?”

“Of course, he is just an online friend!”

This is probably one of the deepest loopholes you must not see yourself into. If you are indeed in a safe friendship, then there is no need to rationalize something that is innocent and appropriate. Be very cautious when you fight with the feeling of guilt every once in a while.

2. When you think that your “just-online friend” is feeding your personal needs

There’s no reason anymore to ask yourself why your “just-online friend” is feeding your personal needs while your partner doesn’t. Be very extra careful if you are already falling into the habit of sharing intimate details of sentiments and lingering manifestations that you don’t usually share with your partner. And it is also a miserable boomerang if you’ll think that your partner cannot be at par with your “just-online friend” when it comes to feeding both your needs and wants. Why not reconsider sharing it with your partner and both grow with each other in your relationship?

If you will continue doing these things in a gay relationship, you will end up with gay relationshits.

1. When you talk about your partner

Aside from the fact that it is discourteous to share some intimate and personal details about your partner and whatnot in your relationship, it can also be a form of you opening up emotionally showing all of the shortcomings that you have with your current relationship. Just imagine yourself in your partner’s shoe if they will hear you saying it to somebody else. Are you still going to say it?

You don’t get to have the great chances of winning a lottery, but you surely have a great deal of fixing and strengthening your relationship with your partner. Flirting is a perk of single people while loving is a sought-after privilege of people in a romantic relationship. You get to experience both once or twice or even more than that in your life. You need not choose. It will come. Just have faith and be faithful.
