Wear Your Love for HIV Prevention
Wear your sweetest smile and strike your best pose this coming August 29 and 30 as the LoveYourself, Inc. brings back its open photo shoot dubbed as #WearLove2015 at Anglo Building in Shaw Boulevard, which will benefit the organization’s advocacy towards HIV/AIDS prevention.
By signing up at go.loveyourself.ph/wearlove2015, every donor model can get the iconic LoveYourself shirt, an editorial portrait wearing it, plus the services of a professional celebrity makeup artist for only PhP1,200.00.
Aside from the solos, LoveYourself also now offers a “duo” and a “groupie” shoot that is perfect for couples and barkadas for only PhP600.00. Shirts for the shoot are available and can be bought separately at PhP600.00 only.
All proceeds of the photo shoot will fund the organization’s free HIV testing, counseling, peer education and community building activities for highly affected individuals, particularly members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.
It has to be noted that slots are limited, so make sure to register early.
Celebrities stood for the same cause
Imbibing the influence of celebrities to ripple worthwhile causes, the LoveYourself’s latest celebrity advocate is Manhunt International 2012 June Macasaet.
More than his stunning looks, Macasaet has also a heart for helping other people to protect and prevent themselves from contracting HIV and other sexually transmitted infections through awareness and education.
“I’d like to save lives by making people aware of HIV/AIDS, and to inspire people living with it that there is still hope and chance in life after it,” Macasaet said.
For the past three years, the LoveYourself have taken hundreds of photos from all walks of life, who share the same advocacy, including renowned TV host and LGBT advocate Boy Abunda; award-winning film director Joey Reyes, comedian-actor John Lapus; character actors Paulo Avelino, and Roco Nacino; and even Filipina beauties and brains, such as Ms. International 2014 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti and rights advocate Risa Hontiveros.
A cause worth every peso
Despite being a non-profit, non-stock organization, LoveYourself has already helped nearly 9,000 individuals from January to July of this year to know their HIV status. Likewise, through activities like #WearLove2015, the organization encourages everyone to embody the virtue of self-worth by protecting oneself and sharing positive ideals to others.
In this sense, while aiding LoveYourself’s operations, every model donor is also assured of the best value for their money by going through the lens of pro photographer Joyce Valerie Jacinto to unleash the photogenic you. Jacinto has nearly a decade of experience in photography through advertising campaigns, fashion shoots, and coverages for special events and sports competitions, wherein her artistry has been showcased in the “Not Just Fifteen Minutes of Fame” by the Female Artists and Musician’s Evolution.
Complementing Jacinto’s eye in portraiture is the hands of Renen Bautista, who is named one of Preview Magazine’s best make-up artists in the making. Bautista is a professional makeup artist who has done covers for fashion and high society magazines like Preview, Meg, and Philippine Tatler.
Ultimately, LoveYourself believes in empowering individuals to adopt a more confident, optimistic outlook in life and become an impetus for change to establish a better community to live in.
