#LGBTVotePH: From Purchasing Power Of The Pink Peso To Power Of The Pink Vote

 

It is not every day that we see presidential candidates for the upcoming election talk about LGBT rights, marriage equality, the rise of HIV, discrimination, and the likes. It has never been a priority like endless talks on poverty, heavy traffic, and widespread corruption. Thus, the Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce, chaired by Mr. Brian Tenorio, spearheaded #LGBTVotePH that will be on February 13, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Impact Hub Manila, Green Sun, Makati.

The Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce is a multi-industry group composed of members of the LGBT community. Through the #LGBTVotePH, the said organization aims to have an avenue for a “reverse forum.” Instead of candidates appearing before an audience to answer questions, the organization has encouraged presidential bets to come with questions for the community.

 

Moreover, the forum aims for the LGBT community to have their issues be addressed by whom they will give their votes to. After all, due to the broad spectrum of the issues that these presidential bets are tackling, it is no longer becoming inclusive for the LGBT community who has issues that they can only relate to and that must also be given solutions, in one way or another.

 

2016 Philippine Presidential candidates chat up and discuss key LGBT issues and themes with Filipino LGBT professionals, entrepreneurs, businesses, and organizations.
