I have so quite a handful of discriminations growing up as a young gay man. Even to this day as a professional, I still get subtle prejudices here and there–may it be implied or done in silence. And I am continuously battling my everyday life in the face of living my truth.
But yesterday, I have experienced something quite heart-breaking: being judged by a fellow gay man who, for sure, has suffered so much judgment in his lifetime. Watch my vlog below of what happened:
Even today, I can feel how hard it is for me to recall what happened. I can take biases from straight people. But not for another gay man who probably walked the same path that I am taking.
I hope that this would serve as a lesson that it does not cost too much if we give respect to other people–let alone to people who are on the same shoe that we’re wearing.
