Day 4 at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry
Days pass so fast and now we are already on our Day 4 at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry. And today we are going to discuss the “Day MakeUp Look.”
So what really is the difference between day and evening makeup? Here is the answer according to the website www.yourweddingmakeup.com:
Here are some of the considerations that one must remember in doing the Day MakeUp Look:
- Foundation: Sheer to full. (sheer coverage means light application of foundation)
- Depends on the models’ or the clients’ skin condition
- It must be the exact shade
- Colors: Wide range (subtle application)
- Eye MakeUp Styles: Open/Closed
- Depends on models’ eye shape (refer here for our Day 2 lesson on Eye MakeUp Style)
Note: Earth colors are required and a must for day makeup. But if the client wants lighter and flashier colors, incorporate the earth colors still.

Tips:
- Stay in one place. Let the face of the client adjust for you.
- This might work for you as a newbie (just like me) in making the eyebrows. Start from the inside part of the brow, then out, connect the two lines and finally the tail.
- Always make it a point to use a lighter color for the eyebrows or a color that is closest to the color of the hair.
- If eyebrows are too dark, put a light mascara to tone the color down. Go in the opposite direction of the brows to really color it properly. (Mind you, I always do this for the first 3 days because I always have a hard time doing the brows. Whew!)
- For older women, don’t use glittery and matte eyeshadows. Use the satiny ones.
- Don’t use shimmery gloss for pouty lips.
- For eye makeup, start from the edge (outer) part of the eyes going inside.
- If you are looking for a great blending brush, go with the MAC 217 brush.
- For the eye makeup not to appear too harsh, dab the eye shadow instead of making a line. Then blend.
- Eyeliner- to make it look subtle-looking, don’t make it full.
- For day makeup look, nose line contour and lip liner are not advisable.
