Day 3 at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry

It’s already Day 3 at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry and it seems that I already gained a lot of information. Or maybe because I have no idea about makeup and makeup application that every information I learn is so valuable.

Read what my Day 1 and Day 2 were like at Maquillage Professionnel School of Makeup Artistry.

Some of the makeup that we’re using from MUFE and BeYu.

Anyway, we already discussed the basics of makeup application. So for today’s class, we are going to discuss the two eye makeup styles. Here are the two styles:

  1. Open Corner Eye Makeup – usually for ladies (and ladies at heart) with small eyes

  2. Closed Corner Eye Makeup – usually for those with big eyes or those who are thinking of making use of the classic eye makeup style.

Steps:

  1. Eyeshadow base/Primer
  2. Eye colors (eyeshadow) – In doing any of these eye makeups, the makeup artist must take note of the 4 colors needed to achieve a peg.
    • Light – Eyelids
    • Medium – Eye crease
    • Dark – Outer crease
    • Highlight – Browline

Here’s an example of an eyeshadow palette with the 4 shades that you will use for this peg. It usually comes in 4 but there are times that it comes in 3. So technically the light and the highlighter are just used as one.
  3. Eyeliner
    • Upper Lid – use liquid liner in order for the creases to be penetrated with colors
    • Lower Lid – Pencil
  4. Eyelash Curler/Mascara – make sure that you use waterproof.

Left- Open Eye Makeup Style. Right – Close Eye Makeup Style

Tips:

  • Whatever you do on which side you’re going to do first, do it too at once on the other side so it will be balanced or you can still remember what you did on the first lid you made up. (Or maybe this is just for newbies like me)
  • Extend light color to crease area to make it smooth.
  • Use only one side of the brush.
  • For fast blending, choose a lighter color compared to the outer side and blend.
